Home Revamp 2014

My house recently underwent a major makeover - no more wooden furnitures. We are into walnut colour and leather material these days. Dad and mum are very happy with the outcome and glad that after so long, we (my brothers and I) are finally able to help out with giving our house a fresh new look.

I have been wanting to revamp my room for the longest time, giving myself more storage space for all the "so not frequently used" things. In the month of April and May, I happily declare myself - broke! Spent a bomb on my tiny weeny room & parts of it on the house (well it may be cheap to others, but certainly took us awhile to save up), but im satisfied with the outcome. =D

During the revamp, I also counted the no. of years we have been using the furnitures. The oldest furnitures were almost 20 years old! My goodness. But one thing i have to say is.... we really did a good job in protecting the furnitures. They did not look that "old", just that some of it are falling apart.

The irony thing is.. when we discard the furnitures, we saw some people pushing our old furnitures back to their home.. Those which are old to us.. may actually be new to them, that makes us a little guilty. But on the other hand, doesn't this also reflect alot about our society and how we look at things? *some points to ponder*

I am finally able to place the magnets up and giving them some exposure, but this didnt last long. The magnets fell on my face last night. So sad! Tonight I have to find a new way to keep these magnets and see how to put them in place securely.. I dont want to wake up at 4am again in the midnight.... =.=

It's scary how time flies sometimes. It's almost mid of 2014. All's good. This year, I have hit some milestone. Experiencing snow for the first time, taught my parents to use smart phone(finally!), purchasing some of the most expensive things in my life. So far so good. But I hope my system could work better too. At the moment, it can get quite torturous and scary when I cannot even make my way to work.  Please 加油!

Some flashbacks before I end the entry..

星期天的感触。

Last year, I lost a very good friend whom I can get along with and confide in. It would be very nice if the world can be filled with lesser mistrust, more open communications. I admit I kind of miss this good friend of mine, but perhaps sometimes some friends are just passerby in life. I hope such incidents will no longer happen. Cherish all friends and everyone in our life.

2013 Flashbacks

It's time of the year again to review what happened in the past 1 year, what have I accomplished, what have I done wrong and how to make my life better.

2013 is very interesting and fulfilling. I learnt alot, saw alot of things and get to know alot of different cultures through people. Loads of family times and, I also found my new interest of travelling.

Here are some of the milestones for this year...

Jan
Went to Hong Kong and Macau for a site recce, first experience with cold weather other than Genting Highlands.

Feb
Finally a CNY where everyone in the family is present.

Mar
Nothing too major happened in this month.. it was just work, work and more work.

Apr
Went to Hong Kong and Macau again to carry out the event. Apparently it was the most happening party the company ever organised and the bosses were pretty happy with this outcome. Im glad! :)

May
Brought my parents to take a plane for the first time! Really happy that I spent most of my savings to bring them to Ho Chi Minh. They were all smiles throughout the trip and im really glad that I did it!

Jun
My first time visiting Schweinfurt, Friedrichshafen, Constance, Wuzburg, Frankfurt, Germany and Switzerland, as well as visiting the plant in Germany. Saw the Switzerland Alps while cruising around the lake of Constance - just beautiful! First time taking the train in European country, it was really quite an experience.

Jul
Visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam again. This time round for work. After being to Vietnam for at least 4 times in the past 2 years, I am glad to declare - I have enough of Vietnam for now. This year, I finally met up with Wei Bing too. Well, its nice to meet a long time friend whom you have not met before and you are still friends.

Aug
Before i depart for Manila, Philippines, everyone warned me that the place is very dangerous, asked me to be careful and all. I think it wasn't that bad afterall. I really like their grilled food!

Sep
Finally, we fulfilled the wish of a graduate trip. This time round with Zhihui, Caroline and Jing Ying to Bintan, Indonesia. It was a short 2D1N trip, but its pretty fun!

Oct
My first super impromptu trip to Bangkok, Thailand. No planning was done, just felt like throwing everything down and moving away from reality for a short while. First time being able to buy so many things back from Bangkok and landed up having to buy a luggage back to put in all my loots. An experience which I pretty enjoy and I must say - sometimes in life, we just have to do it!

Nov
Went for the first Ng siblings trip to Kuala Lumpur. I was skeptical at the beginning but ok, things turned out fine. I think it was pretty much a bonding session for us..

Dec
First experience for winter in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Japan, no snow though. The temperature was as low as 5 degrees early in the morning. Very cold. And I realised I really like Japan more than Europe! This Dec, we also had the first family portrait.. after like so long.. =)

I  have visited 9 countries in total this year. I saw many cultural things, many interesting things and trying to understand each country. Very interesting milestones for 2013. I hope more to come!
