China, here I come again.

In another few hours, I will leave for the land of no Facebook. It is not the place I will want to go for a holiday, at least not at my current age. Perhaps I am unable to appreciate the country as much as I probably would, in future. It's my 2nd time there. First was Shanghai, now Shenyang. Chengdu will probably come, in time to come too. See you next week when I am back.

Yet, another miracle ~

To me, it is indeed "yet, another miracle". I am so glad that my prayers came true. My dad has recovered 60% from the epilepsy and mild stroke.

A lot of things can happen in 1.5 months, a very good example - my dad.

Very independent individual -> 2nd time stroke -> Epilepsy -> Bedridden & often in a confused state -> Slowly gaining back awareness & wheelchair bound -> Able to make small movements from bed to wheelchair and wheelchair to bed -> Walking with the help of walking aids -> walking like normal without the help of walking aids

Many people did not expect to see my dad fell ill just like that. They witnessed how independent he was, to being a wheelchair-bound person and now able to walk up and down independently again. I must also say I am pretty proud of my dad's strong will. It is his strong will that kept him going, of course with the support from family, it definitely helps.

Having more than a month of anxiety and what not, things are finally back on track. My dad is now able to take care of himself and even can cook simple stuff for meals. It is also time to re-think of my future. I had wanted to quit my job many times, but it has never been successful. People who know me would probably think - are you sure....its all talks and no actions. I had my reasons of course. First was because of my brother, and now because of my dad. It's time I need to sit down and think of my own future.

Points to ponder:
What do you think of an AM who asks for work to be split and done over the weekends for a presentation on Monday, 9 am, and ended up not coming to work on Monday because she claims to have a headache and she cannot produce the work done? I find it super irresponsible because people (me) have to cover her work by rushing it out before 9am on Monday morning when she informed at 7am.

It has been very tiring working here because of her. She is the most irresponsible AM I have ever seen. Many a times, I tried to be sympathetic keeping a positive mind that her actions is most probably because of her new born daughter. After some time, I get so tired hearing her excuses about her daughter, She has this topic on every single day and it kind of irritates me because she was practically using her daughter as an excuse for her irresponsible.

Hais. Life sucks sometimes right. One problem comes after another. Ok, I will update again,

2014 Happy (Not) Birthday

10 years ago, I didnt have a happy birthday. My dad fell very ill right before my birthday and even before I begin my polytechnic studies. He had stroke, but miraculously, my dad recovered 90%. This year, I hope miracle will happen again.

This year, 2 days before my birthday, my dad fell very ill again. He has been in and out of the hospital 3 times throughout these 3 weeks. The doctors did many tests, scans, etc on him but no report could give an answer on why my dad was often giddy & had seizures. I pray really hard for him to recover. It has been a tiring 3 weeks not just for him, but the whole family. When the phone rings in the middle of the night, I get very afraid that it is the hospital calling or my dad calling.

We've tried rushing down to the hospital in the middle of the night to check on my dad after getting the hospital's call, arriving at the hospital to see that my dad is being tied up because he was always trying to run out of the hospital or hearing him talk about many many weird things. It aches to see him like that and makes me feel so helpless about it.

Dad, please recover soon! I know you can do it with your strong will, to overcome this obstacle. 加油!

Lazy Sat Night

I havent on my laptop for the longest time - perhaps a good 8-9 months at least. I dont know why but it suddenly occur to me that perhaps its time to back up my photos from this laptop, in case it crashes without me knowing.

It has been almost 3hours and I am still sorting out my photos and trying to back them up in the external hard disk. I was looking through all my photos - it was really a "those were the days" moment. Pictures were dated back as early as 2008. My goodness, its almost 6 years already and yet they still seem fresh in my mind, like each event happened only recently.

I saw some of my friends from single to attached to married to having kids while some friends have either drifted apart or probably no longer even friends. It struck me a little. What happened to the friendship where we used to hang out together very closely in the past? I read an article, it says that if you have been friends for 7 years and more, chances are you will be friends forever. It's not true. There is no such thing as friends forever, at least that has not happened to me yet. It made me realise that friends come and go, friends changes their priority as they move onto different phases in life and you might not be a priority anymore even if you were once a priority.

Family seems to be a different thing. I once had very bad relationship with my family. No, I dont mean my parents, we have been perfectly fine. I meant my 2 brothers. We dont used to talk about our lives, but after so many things happened, we all changed our perception towards having a good family relationship. We try to make time for the family every weekend and on important occasions, making an effort to give one another some small gestures and wll wishes. Perhaps, our priorities have changed too.

Oh well, I guess that's life.

Weekends

Usually, weekends have been my resting time. The last 2 weekends, it was different. I attended 2 weddings - my secondary school friend, Jun Shen and poly friend, Yong Yik's.

Each wedding is like a mini reunion for all of us. We often chat about the old times and what we have been doing or are doing. All of us are busy with our lives - some are pretty successful in their work life, family life, etc.

Each reunion at different stage of life, there will definitely be a different type of topic. After graduation, it would be - Have u found a job? What do you work as now? After having worked in the society university for awhile, the next topic was - Have you found a boyfriend? (for those single) or When are you getting married and... Have you applied for BTO?

It is funny, isn't it? Well I supposed, that's life.

Yes, Yuan Chang is like a boss - thorn among the roses (US).

Oh yes and this is how i spent my Saturday! 3hours of jam to the nearby country - Malaysia, only to start the day weirdly without anything going right. But we ended up with a good meal, good company and of course, movie!

Home Revamp 2014

My house recently underwent a major makeover - no more wooden furnitures. We are into walnut colour and leather material these days. Dad and mum are very happy with the outcome and glad that after so long, we (my brothers and I) are finally able to help out with giving our house a fresh new look.

I have been wanting to revamp my room for the longest time, giving myself more storage space for all the "so not frequently used" things. In the month of April and May, I happily declare myself - broke! Spent a bomb on my tiny weeny room & parts of it on the house (well it may be cheap to others, but certainly took us awhile to save up), but im satisfied with the outcome. =D

During the revamp, I also counted the no. of years we have been using the furnitures. The oldest furnitures were almost 20 years old! My goodness. But one thing i have to say is.... we really did a good job in protecting the furnitures. They did not look that "old", just that some of it are falling apart.

The irony thing is.. when we discard the furnitures, we saw some people pushing our old furnitures back to their home.. Those which are old to us.. may actually be new to them, that makes us a little guilty. But on the other hand, doesn't this also reflect alot about our society and how we look at things? *some points to ponder*

I am finally able to place the magnets up and giving them some exposure, but this didnt last long. The magnets fell on my face last night. So sad! Tonight I have to find a new way to keep these magnets and see how to put them in place securely.. I dont want to wake up at 4am again in the midnight.... =.=

It's scary how time flies sometimes. It's almost mid of 2014. All's good. This year, I have hit some milestone. Experiencing snow for the first time, taught my parents to use smart phone(finally!), purchasing some of the most expensive things in my life. So far so good. But I hope my system could work better too. At the moment, it can get quite torturous and scary when I cannot even make my way to work.  Please 加油!

Some flashbacks before I end the entry..

星期天的感触。

Last year, I lost a very good friend whom I can get along with and confide in. It would be very nice if the world can be filled with lesser mistrust, more open communications. I admit I kind of miss this good friend of mine, but perhaps sometimes some friends are just passerby in life. I hope such incidents will no longer happen. Cherish all friends and everyone in our life.

2013 Flashbacks

It's time of the year again to review what happened in the past 1 year, what have I accomplished, what have I done wrong and how to make my life better.

2013 is very interesting and fulfilling. I learnt alot, saw alot of things and get to know alot of different cultures through people. Loads of family times and, I also found my new interest of travelling.

Here are some of the milestones for this year...

Jan
Went to Hong Kong and Macau for a site recce, first experience with cold weather other than Genting Highlands.

Feb
Finally a CNY where everyone in the family is present.

Mar
Nothing too major happened in this month.. it was just work, work and more work.

Apr
Went to Hong Kong and Macau again to carry out the event. Apparently it was the most happening party the company ever organised and the bosses were pretty happy with this outcome. Im glad! :)

May
Brought my parents to take a plane for the first time! Really happy that I spent most of my savings to bring them to Ho Chi Minh. They were all smiles throughout the trip and im really glad that I did it!

Jun
My first time visiting Schweinfurt, Friedrichshafen, Constance, Wuzburg, Frankfurt, Germany and Switzerland, as well as visiting the plant in Germany. Saw the Switzerland Alps while cruising around the lake of Constance - just beautiful! First time taking the train in European country, it was really quite an experience.

Jul
Visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam again. This time round for work. After being to Vietnam for at least 4 times in the past 2 years, I am glad to declare - I have enough of Vietnam for now. This year, I finally met up with Wei Bing too. Well, its nice to meet a long time friend whom you have not met before and you are still friends.

Aug
Before i depart for Manila, Philippines, everyone warned me that the place is very dangerous, asked me to be careful and all. I think it wasn't that bad afterall. I really like their grilled food!

Sep
Finally, we fulfilled the wish of a graduate trip. This time round with Zhihui, Caroline and Jing Ying to Bintan, Indonesia. It was a short 2D1N trip, but its pretty fun!

Oct
My first super impromptu trip to Bangkok, Thailand. No planning was done, just felt like throwing everything down and moving away from reality for a short while. First time being able to buy so many things back from Bangkok and landed up having to buy a luggage back to put in all my loots. An experience which I pretty enjoy and I must say - sometimes in life, we just have to do it!

Nov
Went for the first Ng siblings trip to Kuala Lumpur. I was skeptical at the beginning but ok, things turned out fine. I think it was pretty much a bonding session for us..

Dec
First experience for winter in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Japan, no snow though. The temperature was as low as 5 degrees early in the morning. Very cold. And I realised I really like Japan more than Europe! This Dec, we also had the first family portrait.. after like so long.. =)

I  have visited 9 countries in total this year. I saw many cultural things, many interesting things and trying to understand each country. Very interesting milestones for 2013. I hope more to come!

26072013

The first meet up was awkward but it worked pretty well as we got to know each other a little better in person. Perhaps like what Fan Mama said.. it happens for a reason. I was afraid we would lost contact after that, but we didnt. I am glad. :)

We've been friends for 8 years and counting. It's amazing how life is. We havent met each other before, but we are often in contact via sms, whatsapp, etc. He was always there for me when things dont go the right way, particularly the last 2 years when God decided to put my life on test. This, Im really touched. He cant be a person to offer great advices but, he is certainly one of the best pairs of listening ears I've ever met.

Of course, we had squabbles too, even though it might be via messaging. All friends have that, dont they?

It's been a year!

Hello hello!

It's been a year since I last blogged! A lot of things happened within a short span of 1 year and I thought I would pen some thoughts down.

Guess the past year has made me grown up by loads - in terms of maturity level, I guess. I've began seeing things from many different perspective, try to understand some of the things which my parents do (from their point of view), those which I probably would never understand in the past. I've also learnt to appreciate them more. I guess every chapter in life - be it good, or bad, all contributes largely to our lives in some ways or another.

Sometimes I am glad that I got the current job, while sometimes I really whine madly about it. Guess it's part and parcel of life. >.<

Ok. Enough said. I'm going lalaland now. Stay tune for the next post (maybe 1year later again?)!

Happy Birthday Caryn & Pei Mei!

For the month of March and April, 2 of my good friends are celebrating their birthdays.

We had a staycation sometime towards end March, thanks to Caryn's friend! And well, a surprise was planned for Caryn, to celebrate a super belated birthday for her. :)

Check out the pics!

Yesterday, we planned for another surprise for Pei  Mei. Well, not exactly a surprise, I told the girls we'll meet for dinner and all of us are to dress up to the nines. She knew we had something up on our sleeves, she knew Shimei would appear somehow, but she didnt know that we would prepare some cupcakes for her too! Dinner was at Fullhouse restaurant, I would give it a 8/10 rating. Not really because of the food, its because we received splendid service!

Caryn & Pei Mei - I hope you girls had a wonderful bday celebration and may everything be shun shun this year! Happy Birthday!

A stunning Q1 for 2012

Today I heard some news. Apparently, I am not the only one in the team feeling the urge to say bye bye. So many things were going on at work, so many people leaving, left abruptly, etc. It's gonna be super challenging in the days to come.

I just had an interview yesterday  and I am not sure what will be the outcome. Let's wait and see. Meanwhile, I will continue to look see look see. If opportunity comes along the way, I will just go for it.

*Keeping my fingers crossed*

Back to Blog

With so many different available social media platforms, I slowly lost the urge to keep this blog alive. After a long hiatus, I feel like blogging again. Perhaps this is one of the not so good day to begin with for the week. But, I'll just embrace whatever that comes.

There are times I look back and really wondered how I overcomed the past year. So many things had happened - family, friends, work.. I had my downs last year and hope this year would be a better year but unfortunately, I did not have a good start of 2012. I had a different new year this year, my brother is still away. I am not sure how long this whole episode will last, I hope things will end soon.. as I am really tired.. tired of being the clown, peacemaker and entertainer of my parents.. even when I am feeling down myself. I just had to put up that false front to deceive them.

Yet, I've made it through but I think it's beginning to take a toil on me. I think I can no longer control my emotions as well as before. In 2012, my eldest brother, Sunny came back after 12 years. I really don't know if this is something to be happy about or worried about. Im happy that my dad now smiles more than before, but I am worried that his return might spell something bad for me. Perhaps I am paranoid, but once bitten, twice shy. The scene of him telling me "I don't know who you are" still remains very fresh in my mind. I think no one can imagine that his/her brother would say this to him/her, right in the face. It hurts, I try to forgive but, I cannot forget still. I just pray that nothing comes with his return and I am happy.

But, I am still afraid, that what happened last year will happen again. I just don't want to cry to sleep again, where crying was the avenue to release the stress.

Just feeling a little under the weather today and thus, I have a very negative post. Anyway, it's time for bed.

What happened from May - Jul 2011?

Alot of things happened these 2 months and many first time also happened! Life has been great and more to be coming. :)

This year, I have completed many trips and a few more to come.

Before that, , I wanna shout "I HAVE FINALLY GRADUATED!"

Ok. Let me carry on. :x I went on my first business trip to Bangkok and that was also my very first trip to BKK! That followed by HK trip with Kymmi & Xuanhui. Upcoming next would be Batam day trip, Genting, BKK (again) and Vietnam. I am super excited but on the other hand. I feel kinda confused over some things too.

It's work vs convocation & work vs best friend's wedding. What to do? I am still trying hard to find a solution for these 2 issues. I worked hard for the past 3.5yrs to get this degree, if I don't go for the convocation, I feel like I have let myself down. Best friend's wedding is in Nov and guess what? They scheduled me on trip to Vietnam. If I miss this, I know she would be very very disappointed and I want her to be happy on her wedding day. *sighs*

If I forgo these trips, I will miss a great chance and the highlights for my career paths, and also, I would be disappointed. What should I do? It's really a big headache. Decisions. Decisions. Decisions.

Anyways... The below images kinda concludes where I have been these 2 months. Enjoy~

Su Ling is back!

This must have been one of the longest time since I last updated the blog. No, I've not forgotten about this blog. It's just that I've been real busy and too tired recently to give updates.

I seem to be using Twitter more compared to blogspot and facebook these days.

Had my last paper a Saturday ago. I hope its really the last for these 2 modules and that can then mark the end of my degree course (a.k.a GRADUATE). ^ ^ Things are more settled at home and I hope it remains this way. :)

Work gets pretty exciting, challenging, tiring recently and many first times are going to happen in my life.

1. Purchasing the first luggage at home
2. Business Trip to Bangkok, Thailand
3. Alone to Thailand for the first time

Where have I gone?

It's been months and I think cobwebs are growing on this near-abandoned blog. Where exactly have I gone to? I've been missing in action till "Buay Lin Chu". Work is horrible + challenging + speechless. Last sem of school but still, where did the motivation go? Maybe it has also gone missing in action, just like me.

Taking the super soft approach on my bro by ignoring him and not recognising his presence at times. I think I have given up. It is indeed how true that love and hatred is just a line difference. April is coming and soon he will be going in. I wish him best of luck and hope one day, he will come out a brand new person. Skeptical if that will happen, but let's see.

Hope this period of time will be a good cooling and peaceful period for my parents. It's been a long while. They went through the roller coasters of lives once again, at this age. Not very fun huh? Anyways, just keeping my fingers crossed on what will happen next.

Ok, Im just trying to keep the blog alive by updating some bits abt the ongoings. I'll update more when the mood comes and when the feel comes. Goodnight people.

Will 2011 be a good year?

People are not appreciative of the things we do. Sometimes I wonder why are we always giving our very best to help when people dun cherish what they have and what people have done for them.

I think it has reached the brim already. The container is gonna burst. The feelings have grown much stronger - both positive and negative.

不一样的星期六

Yesterday was a different Saturday. The day started with home cooked breakfast. Haha. I finally learnt how to cook the white fried carrot cake! Hahaha.. My brother asked me whats wrong with me because he was just surprised that I actually know how to cook. >.<

Then I went for a walk. I walked from my house to Woodlands Waterfront, then from Woodlands Waterfront to Admiralty Park, combed the whole park taking the different routes and walked back home. Made new discoveries at the Waterfront. It's pretty nice discovery - Mangroves and Rocky Trail.

Pictures of my Sat's happening. :p

Future "GM" visit

Today, the future "GM" came to our office. Hahaha.. I couldnt resist not uploading his photo and I think it is not very nice to upload on FB, hence... blogspot is a better choice.

Check out the super handsome future "GM".
